¡Hola! Thanks for joining us today. This time, we are sharing an interesting, beautiful worksheet to put your reading skill into practice by scanning a text about someone’s favorite seasons in Spanish. The passage includes key weather expressions and vocabulary about this topic. This worksheet comes with two exercises for students to get the best out of this material.
Directions:
Students could work individually or in pairs to solve the exercises on this worksheet.
In order to solve the exercises in this worksheet, students should first take a look at the pictures on the left besides each paragraph to get a general idea of the reading. Then, they should read the entire passage, which will basically describes each season in Spanish (except the ones for tropical countries: rainy and dry season). The passage is mostly written in the present tense and makes use of several key verbs and weather expressions in the language. For exercise No. 1, they must scan the text and answer the questions based on what he/she says about each season. For exercise No. 2, they should complete the sentences with the right verb from the box on top. Most of these expressions are part of the reading themselves so they could read again and find them or just rely on their prior knowledge to solve the exercise.

Extra Activity:
Students work in groups of four to make a list of 5 activities that people often do in each season such as “Ir a la playa en el verano” (go to the beach for the summer). They can choose their own favorite activity or others. Then, every group presents for the rest of the class with each student picking one of the seasons as his/her favorite one and then explaining why he/she likes that season and the 5 most important activities they can do during that time. The teacher gives them some feedback.
