Hello! Thanks for joining us. This time, we are sharing a great PDF worksheet to practice indirect object pronouns in Spanish, which are essential in real conversations to say basic things like “Me gusta el español” (I like Spanish). We hope you can get the best out of this material.
Directions:
Students can work individually or in pairs to solve the exercises on this worksheet.
First, this worksheet presents a brief definition of indirect object pronouns in Spanish and how to use them in basic sentences. In short, these pronouns tell us “¿A quién?” (whom?) is being affected by the main verb or action in the sentence, e.g.
- “Te llamé ayer” (I called you yesterday). Who did I call? – A ti (you), which means we will have to use the pronouns TE to show it’s you I called up.
This worksheet consists of two exercises: the first consists of rewriting several sentences by replacing the indirect object in them with the appropriate pronoun, for example:
- Original sentence: Yo reservé una habitación para ustedes. (The phrase “para ustedes” tells us we must use the pronoun “les” )
- Using indirect object pronouns: Yo les reservé una habitación.
As for the second exercise, students must complete a short conversation in Spanish with the IOP that makes sense for each case based on the clues and context of the conversation.
