Describing Houses and Apartments – Spanish Dialogues in PDF

¡Hola! Thanks for joining us. This time, we are sharing a great worksheet to help you practice the expressions and questions that you need to have a short conversation about houses and apartments in Spanish. This PDF worksheet consists of three basic dialogues plus a gap filling exercise, which could be the base for other in-class activities.

Directions:

Students could work individually or in pairs to solve the exercises in this worksheet.

Print the worksheet and hand each student a copy. This worksheet contains three short dialogues or conversation excerpts using questions and expressions to describe houses or apartments in Spanish for different purposes, including telling a friend about your new house, talking about construction plans and inquiring about a new house you might want to buy. Students are given the options to fill in the gaps on top of each dialogue, which means that they only need to write down the words or phrases in the blanks so that each dialogue makes sense.

In-class activity:

Students work in pairs or groups to add four to six more lines to the dialogues. They could ask new questions about the place e.g. “¿Dónde está la habitación principal?”, or add new information about the areas around the house through simple descriptions with adjectives, e.g. “La habitación es cómoda“, or say what they like/dislike about the place: “Me gusta la sala porque…”. Each group should focus on one dialogue, and they could add more lines (not too many) if necessary. Once they finish planning, they should present in front of the class to get some feedback from their teacher.
