Household Chores in Spanish – PDF Worksheet

Hello! We have designed a very nice worksheet to help you practice the vocabulary for chores in Spanish through two interesting vocabulary exercises. We hope you find this resource very useful to reinforce your knowledge on the topic.

Directions:

Students could work by themselves or in pairs to solve the exercises on this worksheet.

Each student gets a copy of the PDF worksheet. For the first exercise, students must match the activities on the left with the drawings that have been numbered on the right. It is very important to be clear about the meaning and pronunciation of these phrases. As for the second exercise, they should choose the verb or action that best completes each of the blanks in the dialogue and conjugate it properly to fit perfectly. The teacher should provide feedback and make sure both activities in the worksheet are done correctly.

Exercise No. 1

Write the name of each of the chores or household activities in Spanish that we have illustrated on the vocabulary flashcards below. Good luck!

Exercise No. 2

Complete the dialogue with the verbs or actions about the chores in Spanish that are part of the worksheet. Remember that some of these activities can be said in more than one way.

Extra activity:

Review with the students the names of the equipment we use to do household chores, such as “una escoba” (a broom) or “un trapeador” (a mop). Show them each item, saying, “Para _________ (action or chores in Spanish) usamos un/una _____________ (equipment/tool)”. Have them repeat it back to you, paying attention to pronunciation. Then, make two lines with the students in the classroom, team A and B. Students should have a set of home equipment in front of them on a table and when the teacher shows them a chore, they should point out and make a sentence with the structure that we mentioned about to say things like: “Para barrer el piso usamos una escoba”. The team that makes the best sentences and uses the right words wins.
