¡Hola! This worksheet is aimed at helping you practice the vocabulary for animals in Spanish and different tenses to talk about them through a board game that will require the students to improvise and speak spontaneously about animals. We hope you like the game and that you can talk a lot about animals and share everything you know about them with your friends or classmates.
Directions:
Students work in pairs or groups of four to practice with the exercises on this worksheet.
Students take turns to roll a dice or flip a coin, and move their counter along the board. When a student lands on a square, they talk about the animal on the square for 30 seconds using the structures they already know, which could be anything from the present tense to the simple past, etc. If a player can’t think of anything to say, makes a grammar mistake, or stops talking before the 30 seconds are up, they can’t move forward and should stay in their last position. They should provide interesting facts about animals in Spanish and give as much information as possible. The first student to reach the last square wins the game.
Extra Activity :
The teacher selects a member of each group, someone each group wants to represent them, and ask them to come in front of the class to play one last time. Then, they play the game talking about animals with the teacher’s assistance who will finally choose the class winner.
