¡Hola! Thanks for visiting our website. This time, we will share a very interesting worksheet to practice the different types of nouns in Spanish through two nice grammar exercises and an extra in-class activity. We hope you find it very useful to reinforce your knowledge on this topic. Let’s start…
Directions:
Students could work by themselves or in pairs to solve the exercises on this worksheet.
First of all, this worksheet shows the basic definition of “sustantivos” (nouns). It includes two exercises related to this topic. For the first exercise, students must classify the two lists of nouns in Spanish in the gray boxes. There are five nouns for each category with some belonging to more than one category. For example, the word “carro” (car) is both a common and an individual noun. Students should be clear about the meaning of the nouns they are to classify, as well as the different categories of nouns in the language. As for the second exercise, they could use any noun that comes to their mind to complete the sentences, though most of them could be completed with the nouns provided in the two lists from exercise No. 1. Once they have finished, the teacher and students could check the answers together using the answer sheet provided in the PDF file.

Exercise No. 1

Exercise No. 2
Drag and drops the Spanish nouns that best fit in the blank spaces to complete these sentences. Some of these words will not match any sentence in the interactive quiz.
Extra in-class activity:
The teacher writes a set of simple sentences using a poster paper stripes, perhaps from a short fable or story. Then, students are divided into two teams. They must order the story first and then find the nouns in Spanish in each line and know which category they belong to. Each member of both group goes in front of the class, reads the sentence from the story and tells which the “sustantivo” (noun) is and its type. The team that gets the most noun types correctly wins.
